How Much Exercise Is Really Necessary?

I recently saw Michelle Obama on television encouraging children to get at least an hour of exercise or rigorous play every day in order to prevent childhood obesity.  I don’t know much about Michelle Obama, but I do have to applaud her efforts on this one.  You don’t have to be a child development specialist to see that children nowadays are developing quite a bit.  And it’s not just the kids that are expanding horizontally.  It’s my opinion that most adults could stand to engage in an hour or exercise or rigorous play each day as well.  I understand that this is just not possible for many of us, but I think it’s a good goal.

Think about it.  How much healthier would you be if you engaged in an hour or rigorous activity each and every day?

Here’s what I had to eat today:

1 Special K Protein Meal Bar

1 Ham Sandwich on Whole Wheat with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Spinach, and Green Peppers

1 Serving of Tomato Soup

1 Serving of Corn

1 Serving of Green Beans

1 Large Lettuce Salad with Tossed Greens, Cucumbers, and Broccoli

80 oz of Water

Supplements I’ve taken today:           

1 Fish Oil Pill

1 Multi Vitamin

Exercise Today:

62 Minutes of Walking

20 Squats

25 Push Ups
