Black Friday Weigh In

This morning I woke up feeling a little fat.  “How terrible,” I said aloud, “to have to weigh in the day after Thanksgiving.”  Slowly, I arose, dressed, and walked to the gym where I weigh in every Friday morning.

I had been told that the best thing to do during vacations and during the holidays is just try to maintain, so I didn’t expect this to be a red-letter day for weight loss.  Especially since yesterday was Thanksgiving.

However, as I weighed, the scale evened out at 186.75, exactly 1 lb lighter than I was last week.  Who would have thought that I could have pigged out on the biggest pig out day of the year and still lose 1 lb.

I was so excited that I ran back to our condo and gave the news to Kathy.

“You make me sick!” was her reply.  “It’s so unfair how much easier it is for guys to lose weight.”

I laughed nervously.  Fortunately, she smiled and started laughing as well.

Here’s what I had to eat today on this Thanksgiving Day:

1 Special K Protein Meal Bar

2 Servings of Mongolian Barbeque

1 Serving of Steamed Pollack

1 Boiled Egg

2 Servings of Mixed Fruit (Grapes, Kiwi, Melon)

1 Serving of Slice Potatoes with Green Peppers

1 Turkey Sandwich on Whole Wheat Sandwich Thins

1 Serving of Tortilla Chips with Salsa

3 medium sized chocolate chip cookies

90 oz of water

Supplements I’ve taken today:           

1 Fish Oil Pill

1 Multi Vitamin

Exercise:

10 Minutes on the Elliptical Machine

50 Minutes of Walking

30 Times on the Chest Press Machine

130 Crunches on the Ab Machine
