Fasting and Napping

30 Mar

I’m entering another time of prayer and fasting until Easter weekend.  Therefore, my food intake is only God’s business for the next several days.  Anyway, I’ll not be posting blogs unless I find something interesting that I think you might find interesting.

People find napping interesting.  Here’s a blog post from Michael Hyatt that you might find interesting.  http://us2.campaign-archive1.com/?u=52d5c7778a3adfda535c3b349&id=cfeb44db98&e=3c0c515397

Have a great week.

Doctor’s Orders #2

Doctor’s Orders #2

For those of you who read my blog yesterday, you know that I tried stretching last night to try to relieve some of the symptoms of my restless leg syndrome.  It did seem to help somewhat when partnered with my prescription.

Tonight, I stretching again and I also did the second part of my doctor’s orders.  That part is taking a warm/hot shower or bath very soon before going to bed.  If I’m understanding my doctor correctly, this has been found to be of some help.  I’m going to try it tonight with the stretches and my prescription.

We’ll see if it helps.  See you tomorrow.

Here’s What I Had To Eat Today:

1 Snackwell’s Protein Meal Bar

1 Serving of Lettuce Salad

1 Serving of Jambalaya

1 Peanut Butter Cookie

2 Slices of Turkey Pepperoni Pizza on Whole Wheat Crust

1 Serving of Fat Free Pudding

90 oz of water

My Exercise Today:

90 Minutes of Walking

5 Minutes of Stretching

40 Pushups

My Supplements Friday:

1 Fish Oil Pill

1 Men’s Multi-vitamin

Doctor’s Orders #1

Doctor’s Orders #1

Like I wrote yesterday, I am going to share the top 4 items my doctor prescribed in order to relieve the symptoms of my restless leg syndrome, one day at a time.

One of the problems with having restless leg syndrome is that the kicking keeps both kicker and the spouse of the kicker awake, for two entirely different reasons.  So my doctor told me to stretch before I go to bed.  Apparently, in many people, the stretching relieves the pressure that causes some people to kick involuntarily.  It seems so easy, but maybe it will really help.  I’ll try it tonight and let you know.

Here’s What I Had To Eat Today:

2 Snackwell’s Protein Meal Bar

1 Ham Sandwich with Lettuce, Tomato, Pickle, Green Pepper, and Onion

1 Banana

1 Handful of Nuts

1 Taco Salad with Vegetarian Chili

1 Grilled Chicken Baked Potato

1 Grilled Chicken Sandwich

120 oz of water

My Exercise Today:

70 Minutes of Walking

5 Minutes of Stretching

My Supplements Friday:

1 Fish Oil Pill

1 Men’s Multi-vitamin

Doctor’s Orders

Doctor’s Orders

This morning, I went to visit my doctor regarding my restless leg syndrome.  I know it’s strange, but sometimes my legs kick involuntarily in the evenings as I’m preparing for bed.  It’s a genetic trait that I inherited from my dad.  I’ve spoken with this doctor regarding my kicking before and it was getting close to time to renew my prescription.  In the past, he’s checked my iron levels and has prescribed Ropinerole (which seems to help, but makes me really sleepy).  I’ll share with you over the next four days each of the items he said I needed to implement and the benefits and detriments of each.

Here’s What I Had To Eat Today:

1 Special K Protein Meal Bar

3 Servings of Fruit (Kiwi, Orange, Pears)

2 Chicken Wings

1 Serving of Fried Rice

1 Serving of Grilled Chicken

1 Serving of Steamed Pollack

1 Chicken Sandwich with Lettuce and Tomato

1 Serving of Fat Free Frozen Yogurt

89 oz of water

My Exercise Today:

120 Minutes of Walking

My Supplements Friday:

1 Fish Oil Pill

1 Men’s Multi-vitamin
