Midnight Snack?

Midnight Snack?

It’s late and I’m hungry, but I’ve already eaten way too much today.  Kathy’s asleep and I could very well sneak out to the all night Taco Bell and indulge myself, but I’m not going to do that for several reasons.  First off, I don’t want to lie to my wife.  Secondly, I don’t want to spend the money.  Third, I think I’ll feel more full if I just drink some more water.  Drinking water always seems to help me refrain from overeating.

Here’s What I Had To Eat Friday:

1 Special K Protein Meal Bar

1 Serving of Fried Rice

1 Serving of Grilled Chicken

1 Serving of Grilled Beef

3 Chicken Wings

1 Boiled Egg

1 Serving of Sliced Potatoes

1 Serving of Bruschetta

1 Serving of Rainbow Sherbert

90 oz of water

My Exercise Friday:

70 Minutes of Walking

My Supplements Friday:

1 Fish Oil Pill

1 Men’s Multi-vitamin

I admire your stick-to-it-iveness and commend you on drinking all the water. I don’t know what your usual choices have been, this may have been a unique day. Not to mention that I am not doing so hot in what I know is right or achieving the blessed results so I am no expert here, but suffer me to make one little observation. There seem to be plenty enough protein (meal bar, chicken, beef, egg) and carbs (rice, potato, bruschetta, sherbert) in your menu, but no veggies to speak of. A lot of veggies can be consumed for very few calories and the chewing is satisfying. Do you like veggies? Would it help you to eat them when you are craving something? When I was doing a better job with my weight, I might have been known to munch lettuce leaves or carrots along with the water. Keep up the good work, brother. You are looking great!

      Lynn,
Thanks for your comment. You’re right, it was a unique day for me. Kathy and I ate at a particular buffet where all of the regular vegetables did not look good to me, so unfortunately I pigged out on the meat a little too much. I think if you look across the board at all of my food, you’ll see that I eat a good deal more vegetables and fruit than I did yesterday. I appreciate your concern though, and I’m really glad that you chose to read my blog. I post one just about every day sharing about my journey toward a healthier me. Yesterday, unfortunately, was more of step back. It was good to see you today. I was going to say hello but I was dealing with someone who had requested prayer. God bless. Thanks again.
