Weekly Weigh In/Rivershack Burger

I was going to allow myself to sleep late today, but I woke around 6 AM and couldn’t get back to sleep.  So, I rose and made my way to the condo gym to weigh.  I told myself that if I hadn’t lost at least one pound, I wasn’t going to indulge in a burger today.  Fortunately, the scale reported my weight as 195 lbs.

I was excited for two reasons.  First, it meant that I had lost 31 lbs since beginning my weight loss journey.  Second, it meant that Kathy and I were going to the Rivershack Tavern for lunch.

We stepped into the Rivershack a few minutes after Noon.  It was packed.  Obviously, the place is very popular.  Because it’s considered a tavern, smoking is still allowed (Restaurants in Louisiana have banned smoking).  However, because of a fundraiser, all of the ashtrays had been removed today.  I was glad.  I wanted to taste the burger (or “boiger” as they call it), not the smoke.

I ordered the Classic Rivershack Burger with Pepperjack Cheese and Bacon.  The first bite was the best.  As I continued eating, I wondered if I would be able to eat the whole thing.  I scarfed it down within minutes, along with my side order of sweet potato fries.  I didn’t eat much for the rest of the day.

Good burger.  Interesting place.  Wonderful company.  It will be a while before I return though.  Maybe after I’ve lost 51 lbs.

Here’s what I’ve eaten today:

1 Special K Protein Meal Bar

1 Classic Burger with Pepper Jack Cheese and Bacon

1 Side of Sweet Potato Fries

1 Banana

1 Serving of Lowfat Strawberry Kiwi Yogurt

80 oz of water

Supplements I’ve taken today:

1 Fish Oil Pill

1 Multi Vitamin

Exercise:

10 pushes on Inclined Chest Press Machine

10 pulls on Low Cable Crossover Machine with right hand

10 pulls on Low Cable Crossover Machine with left hand

115 crunches on Ab Machine

92 minutes of walking

    John, you don’t want to lose another 50 or so pounds. The next hurricane will carry you off somewhere and we will miss you. Karl P.S. Ruby Tuesday does NOT allow smoking. Two for one specials emailed to you monthly. Give ’em a try. They have other food besides red meat.

      I’m not trying to lose another 50 lbs, but I do want to lose another 20. My goal from the start was to lose 51 lbs. Thanks for the restaurant tips.
